The Lady Liberty trilogy

What if the Statue of Liberty held a secret?

Dahna “Dayna” O’Sullivan hates everything Irish about herself—copper-colored curls, freckled cheeks, and her “old” sounding birth name. Getting bullied for it all in high school doesn’t help, either. If it relates to her past or her family, Dayna wants nothing to do with it. Dayna’s all about reinventing herself. She’s all about freedom.

Her best friend, Jobs, a teenage tech genius, believes in Dayna more than she does and isn’t afraid to stick up for her. During a fit of rebelliousness on a class field trip to the Statue of Liberty, Dayna and Jobs discover a secret buried deep within the monument: Dayna’s family is connected to Lady Liberty,
and together they hold the key to defending the entire planet.

Exactly the kind of thing Dayna doesn’t want to hear.

But the evil megalomaniac alien Dergak learns about Liberty’s secret too, and he decides he wants it for himself. When he launches his robot army to conquer Earth, Dayna has to choose between embracing her family destiny to unlock Liberty’s ancient secret, or continuing to run scared.

Lady Liberty is early young adult science fiction with humor and heart.
